Gm and happy Monday to the Cardano Community. This is the first of a new series of articles that I will be writing to update our community members on the progress we are making towards creating CitaDelv. The goal of this weekly post is to let the community know what it is that we are working on, milestones we have achieved, content that has been created, as well as ask questions to the community. In addition to this weekly update, you can check out our Roadmap for the high level overview of project timeline.

Each week, I will give some insight into specific workstreams on the project. This week we will be discussing World Design and 2D Map Design, and the development work related to Land Purchasing Capabilities. These articles are meant to be quick reads, enabling us to look at 1–2 key workstreams in the project each week rather than a literal summary of each weeks work.

Map Design

The CitaDelv Universe is being created with a heavy emphasis on time travel. There will be many distinct Era’s — different time periods that exist on the same map. The goal is to enable players to not simply learn about the lore of the world, but experience it throughout time. We are mid-way through developing the 2D map for our first Era release, which is going to take place within a Medieval setting. Our team has spent a lot of time and effort on not only the artistic design, but also put a lot of thought into making a map that was grounded in realism and will create exciting gameplay. I think the community will be really excited about it’s release, which is going start this Wednesday, the 27th.

Land Purchasing Capabilities

Our team is working towards building a functional and intuitive platform for purchasing land NFTs that will exist within the CitaDelv Universe. We have successfully integrated support for Cardano wallets which are CIP-30 compliant and have created a POC for purchases using Nami wallet. The team has also begun our API development for backend management and automation of the first land sale. There are a lot of moving parts with this functionality but the CitaDelv team is working meticulously to ensure that the entire user experience is crisp, clear, and secure.

Question of the Week

What is your favorite MMORPG of all time, and why? Let us know in the comments! Personally, RuneScape still captures the title for me. They made the first global virtual economy by accident, and some of my best memories from gaming are in their world.

Thanks for reading, and check in next week to see how we are progressing.
